GE (General Electric) just bought my company for 8.13 billion dollars.
i've only been here for 16 months, and it's the second time in a ROW that i've worked for a company that got bought out (i worked for PeopleSoft before it was acquired by Oracle), and was with Oracle for a short time before i was let go...
please, let this not be a trend. i'd hate to see my friends (or myself) get laid off... and now we're being asked to gather into our large conference hall to hear what's going to happen for the next few days. i know we won't be shut down (because we have customers to work with), but this is kinda freaky...
edit, 3:24pm- so they're not telling us what's going to happen, but they did say that it was something that was in the works for quite some time. okay... doesn't help me much.
and not too long thereafter, as everyone was leaving the room, i saw ryan (a crush) and i mumbled something his way along the lines of, "hey, dork!" and because he was so distant, he didn't quite hear me. thus as we walked closer to each other, he asked me again what i had said, and i don't know why i said, "i love you, ryan~!!" but he responded by saying, "you're mean."
you know those moments where you're being sarcastic, but you're being honest as heck?
someone throw me into the ocean. i can't swim.
