the tyranny of tdf

The trouble with tdf is that it's like the website that ate my life. Now, don't get me wrong - TDF is pretty much one of my favorite things in this world, and basically the reason I'm able to go see a lot of theatre in New York.

But the problem is that you really need to seize the day with TDF. A show will pop up (say... Frost/Nixon, or Company, or Spring Awakening) and you absolutely have to buy a ticket right away, because God knows when you'll ever get the chance to see that particular play for $30 again.

Coupled with my reviewing gig for curtainup, this means that I tend to get overbooked. First of all, a whole bunch of interesting shows have popped up on TDF, and of course I had to book. Secondly, the nymf submissions have started coming in droves, and I'm supposed to be reading dozens of scripts before the April 7 meeting (totally slacking on that). Third, I'm trying to do a lot of brewing these days so I'm well-stocked for the summer, when it will be too hot for fermentation and I won't be able to make anything else. Then there's the fact that it's Lent, and we've got Holy Week coming up before too long. So here's what I've got going on during March and early April:

3/16: Stay (Curtainup)
3/17: The Pirate Queen (TDF)
3/18: Curtains
3/19: I'm going to try and attend a theology on tap lecture. This one's entitled "How Sex Brought Me Back to the Catholic Church", and my friend Anne and I agree that this sounds unmmissable. If only it will be as awesome as watching Assumpta's romance with Fr. What-a-Waste, ahem, Fr. Clifford on Ballykissangel (this show is my latest obsession, by the way, and I hope to catch a few more episodes during my "free time" these next few weeks)!
3/20: Brew a raspberry wheat beer with my friend Nina
3/21: Bottle the Kolsch I brewed last week
3/22: Pratt-Sils open house. More on this eventually - this may be a major life development, if things go as planned. Basically, I'm considering going back to school. Yeah!
3/23: BFF (TDF)
3/24: Prelude to a Kiss matinee (TDF), and Christine L's going away party
3/25: Anne of Green Gables (Curtainup)
3/27: Redmond arrives for a visit of indeterminate length
3/29: Gulf View (Curtainup)
4/1: Palm Sunday, and Opening day for the Cardinals
4/2: Frost/Nixon (TDF)
4/3: Company (TDF), and the Cardinals' World Series ring ceremony which I'm going to miss (sob)
4/5: Holy Thursday
4/6: Good Friday
4/7: Holy Saturday, and NYMF readers meeting

Yowza.
