WHY ARE THINGS SO EXPENSIVE FOR NO REAL REASON?!

I just signed on to AOL.com to check my e-mail (I have my break now) and I saw a few white shirts that were being sold at various stores and when I looked at the prices, I was just like, "NOOOO!!!!" WHY THEY ARE SO EXPENSIVE is all I want to know! I promise you, I bought my mom a shirt for her the day before her birthday (April Fools' day) on Jamaica Avenue last semester, that was THE SAME SHIRT for waaaaaay cheaper than the asking price!!! Ok, it wasn't the same shirt because my mom's shirt was better since it had fine gold stripes running down them, but it WAS the same cut and design. No joke. This shirt is on sale at Neiman Marcus for $248. CHILL!!!! I would NEVER pay for a shirt that is over $100 or $150 if I'm pushing it. And even so, when I think about it, that is STILL a lot of money to be paying for a shirt! Let's be real here...that shirt has to be HAND-STITCHED, made from some SERIOUSLY new, durable, fire-proof material (lol), shipped from Egypt or Madagascar or SOMETHING because that is too much money for ANY SINGLE piece of clothing!! lol I don't care how rich a person is, spending that much money for a white cotton shirt (or any form of clothing worn on a regular basis) is stupid. The way I see it is unless it's something to save my life or a gift I'm not going to buy it because it is clothes that will be worn often enough and eventually thrown away. It IS white and all, so if I were to wear it while I am out with my friends and eat some curry chicken or something, that shirt would be RUINED! $248 DOWN THE DRAIN!!!! lol Womp womp womp

I tell ya...the things people spend money on. Stupid, just stupid!
