Good day!
I woke up 9 mins ago at exactly 10:00 with beads of sweat running down my body. Forget beads! It was a puddle of sweat! My shirt is damp and I woke up hotter than I can ever remember. I woke up feeling as though I had done 4,000 suicides like the students did in "Coach Carter". lol Man oh man it's gonna be hotttt today! Today is supposed to be 102 degrees, but the "real feel" temperature is up in the teens, like 115 degrees. (Hmmmm....global warming?!?!?!) Now, THIS kind of weather/temperature is DANGEROUS, especially since I work with children. Yesterday this 7-year old girl threw up right at my feet, like 1/2 an inch from my sneakers. She kept telling me she felt sick, so I told her to sit in some shade with water and relax. Give or take a half an hour she just let it all out and I mean that literally. When I took her inside the school and eventually into a classroom with AC, I looked at her real close and she was PALE!!! Her lips were a whitish-pink and her face was waxen. It was THE SCARIEST thing I have experienced all summer. Man, I am sure glad she got better because I was really hoping that she was going to feel better.
Anyway, I need to start getting ready now. I KNOW the train ride this morning is going to be crowded and STICK-AY!!! What gets me is that there could be ONE spot for ONE SMALL PERSON to fit in the train for the door to close, but EVERYBODY AND THEIR MOTHER ON THE PLATFORM WANTS TO SQUEEEEEEEEZE into the spot! lol Sometimes I just look at them like, "Come on! Let's be SERIOUS now! You KNOW that YOU of all people CANNOT fit there!" Oh brother. (lol) What gets me upset, but makes me laugh at the same time is when someone BIGGER than me tries to sit in a space between me and another commuter that only a small CHILD can fit in. It is usually a woman who ends up sitting on the laps of both me AND the person next to me! Then, what I also dislike is that there are camps that take the train into places in the city. Umm...How can 10 counselors, 1 site director, and (literally) 50 or 60 children FIT on a crowded train during rush hour? Whatever happened to the classic yellow school bus? I mean, rent a van or something because the price that is paid for a the train ride for each individual, even if it IS discounted, can surely get a little van or SOMETHING! Just pack up the cheese bus and call it a day! lol j.k.
Well, I am out. Enjoy the day. Keep yaself cool in this weather! Peace!
(It is hot today like in "Do The Right Thing", a Spike Lee joint. [lol] I sure do hope ppl aren't nasty and irritable bc that will only make the day worse.)
