Had quite the long day today, came home a little grumpy, but Gabe, Lil and I cleaned the kitchen and ordered a huge pizza from Mario & Salvos, which pretty much made things all better :-p Gabe made a really cool snow skating video with his friends Brandon (the style guru) and Tom (the camera guru). It was fun watching them film it and then seeing the finished product, which balanced out the fact that there were two random guys running in and out of the sliding door all day.
But tomorrow I'm headed out to Lab and the snow is going to be amazing. Last night one of the level III's skied by butt into the ground to help me get ready for my level I. I'm a bit sore but very satisfied with the progress I made. You know you're a ski instructor when someone asks you how your day was and you reply:
"Well, after two bells in kiddie town I really wanted to crank. Once I got my boots dialed in I could really hold an edge. The top of the triple was hot pow this morning but turned into boiler plate on the headwall after the knuckle draggers got a hold of it."
I love ski slang. Anyways, I've got my exam on the eleventh, so I've got another little while to fine tune everything and brush up on my progressions (basically mini lesson plans). It'll be interesting because I'm testing all day the eleventh, booking home to hop into a dress for semi, going to semi but headed home on the earlier side because I've got to wake up to drive back up to Song Mtn for day two. It should be an interesting weekend.
Anyways, I'm off to shower and work on my presentation of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. (AxCo Educational Seminar on disabilities, activity period, Monday. Be there or be out of the loop.)
