First post of the year! Happy New Year - hope 2009 is a great one for everyone!
And television meme - because, why not?
What shows did you let go of in 2008?
Prison Break… sort of. [Damn you Sarah for making me still semi-watch!] Ugly Betty - until it came back with summer television and made me want to watch again! [Yes, I do realise that means

You need to post more often, but who am I to talk? It's a good thing we've got other means of communication :)
Lol, I don't think I've actually let go of any shows in 08. It's not in my nature :) But I have sort of grown to re-like shows that I thought I was ready to give up on, including House and Prison Break.
Also, LIFE ON MARS. I'll need to work on that. There's just no not getting into LoM. Also, then there is Ashes to Ashes. Just saying. Or wait, did you mean the US LoM? Then I would totally understand. Mad Men DVD is sitting downstairs, waiting to be watched ... as it has been for a while.
Heeeeeeee, that's a lot of shows you intend on checking out in 09. Do you mean just the new episodes or are you that behind? :D
Also, re: House. Uhm, I was READY to give up on that, except it got kinda good recently (and I don't mean the Cuddy/House stuff, I just don't care AT ALL. I like Olivia Wilde, though :)
Also, dude, I'm still not done with my epic re-West-Wing-ing-it. OH BOY. SHOW! SHOW!!! EEEEEEK! No really, I just watched the Brothers in Arms montage like 50 times today. And then the 17 People thing without the Toby scenes. HOLY FUCK. SHOW WITH MANY LAYERS, I MISS YOU SO BLOODY DAMN MUCH.

Dude, seriously, I find it so ridiculously hard to let go of shows - damn you irratinal show loyalty! Prison Break is basically a completely different show now, but I guess that was inevitable given its premise... and I mean, come on, Michael and Sara posing as a married couple - I can't resist that stuff!
I want to watch the US LoM - I have the first season of the British version on DVD when I saw them really cheap. I have heard about Ashes to Ashes. Have you watched any Merlin either??
And ha, that was covering all my bases! Hm, I'm up to date with HIMYM and TO, and that's it! The problem is that I always want to rewatch old shows too - your current TWW rewatching case in point! Heh, I love that you had to point out the excluding Toby bits - it's such a good contrast to the rest of the ep though - because all the others are all flirty with the flowers and the red lights and the muffins. And then everything goes to crap! I LOVE YOU SHOW!!!
Hee, also? I totally want you to watch Eli Stone just for the Eli/Maggie stuff - I am such a friendship based relationship sap!

Lol, I actually didn't watch Prison Break for a while. Still haven't seen basically all of Season 3. Started watching only when Sara got back - can't resist that stuff :D
Have you actually watched the British version? Cause you must must must! I LOVE SAM! I LOVE SAM! ALSO, GENE! THE GENE GENIE. [Still can't get myself to watch the US version, though.] And Ashes to Ashes is basically heartponies times two. I have watched Merlin, but don't really fangirl it. I just watch it for Morgana!
Heee, you were covering ALL your bases then :) 30 Rock hasn't been that spectacular yet this year, but FNL is almost back to its S1 glory - clear eyes, full ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ :D
Also, with the old show rewatch. I keep having *urges* lately. Not just TWW, but Farscape (lol, I have those urges every time I see an icon of the show - that show is extremely PRETTY), Lost (OMG, S1 NEEDS REWATCHING) and Alias (I mean REALLY, how pretty and angsty and flirty were Syd and Vaughn?). And I've been meaning to rewatch S1 of House for AGES (I mean, ugh, NOSTALGIA!). Also, S1 of BSG. And S4 of BSG. And everything in between. I haven't watched S4 on DVD yet - unbelievable!
Also, re: 17 People. Even with all the kissing, my favorite of favoritest episodes to date. And for the episode as a whole system, the Toby bits were great (and just kill me dead). Otherwise it would just be a funny episode, but this is the West Wing and not some comedy. And see, that's how I always felt about the Toby bits, until I actually watched the thing on youtube with the Toby bits missing without realizing at first and I JUST COULDN'T STOP LAUGHING. And I was all I DON'T REMEMBER THIS EPISODE BEING THIS FRIGGING FUNNY and then of course I finally realized that the serious bits were missing. And then I watched it again and again and again an OH DONNA and JOSHUA JOSH JOSH OMFG! It just cracks me up, beginning to end. [And yes, I can totally quote the whole thing from beginning to end, too.]
I mean
"How ya doin'?"
"I'm quite something."
"For I am a man of occasion."
"And then you started working for me again in April, and that’s the one I choose to
remember, because it’s the only one that wasn’t followed by you not working for me and
going back to your boyfriend, and how you can call me mean in comparison to that and
him is another in a long..."
"Honest to God, don’t you ever get tired of the sound of your own voice."
"Yeah? Because I think what I was trying to say was ‘Shove it!’"
"Yes, I do, because you are an hysterically funny person... did you see how I used ‘an’
there properly?"
"You know, Josh, there are times when, to put it quite frankly, I hate your breathing guts."
And then Donna smacks Josh because Sam was being him? *roaring with laughter*
"What the hell is happening now?"
"DONNA
I’m gonna give you a little gift right now, which you don’t deserve.
JOSH
Donna, if you’ve got your old Catholic-school uniform on under there, don’t get me wrong,
I applaud the thought, but...
DONNA
Okay, what I need is for you to stop being like, you, for a second."
"DONNA
I told you I slipped on the ice on the front walk?
JOSH
Yeah. You know why? ‘Cause you didn’t put down the kitty litter.
DONNA
I was actually in a car accident.
JOSH
You were in a car accident?
DONNA
It was...
JOSH
Seriously, you were in an accident?
DONNA
It was no big deal.
JOSH
You told me it was a late thaw." [guh, the way he says late thaw?]
"Yes, you are better than my old boyfriend."
"JOSH
I’m just sayin’ if you were in an accident, I wouldn’t stop for a beer.
DONNA
[stands up] If you were in an accident, I wouldn’t stop for red lights."

Also, um, holy crap. Still. I seriously had forgotten how much love 17 People is... I mean, I hadn't forgotten, but it's been ages since I've watched, and it all came flooding back with your epic quotage and the rewatching. LOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVE!!!!! And ha, okay, that wasn't all from your head, right? But I would still believe you if you said yes. I can vaguely remember having just discovered forums around that time 17P was going to air on television here, and I knew enough to be anticipating it -- but it was so much better than I had imagined. Good times!
Ohoh, but in the first scene, where Josh is about to walk away into his office, and then makes his funny funny ol' joke about knowing any funny people, I lovelove that he follows Donna back into the bullpen just because he wants to needle her some more. And the way he tells her that she cracks him up. LOVE!
Ha, I skipped a whole lot of Season 3 too - the Sona stuff was too ridiculous. But oh Sara/Michael... loyalty remains!
I haven't watched any of LoM UK yet. And what exactly is Ashes to Ashes?? And Em sent me two eps of Merlin purely so I would get pulled in by Morgana/Arthur. Evil!
Ha, like your tv watch list wouldn't be as long!! I so want to catch up with FNL - haven't seen any of season 3, or actually read much about it, though I know that Tami is school principal, and that Matt and Julie slept together... And that they are going to flash forward 8 months in the last episode of the season... so ha, maybe I do know some stuff!! FNL season 1 rewatch urges!!
Um, I think I need to rewatch 17P again...

I KNOW, RIGHT! IT'S A WHOLE AVALANCHE OF AWESOME. OH AND THEN THE AINSLEY AND THE SAM? Lol, maybe not all from my head, no.
Ashes to Ashes is the sequel to LoM UK and made of MORE AWESOME than LoM. WAAAATCH ITTTTT! And tell Em "GOOD JOB!" from me :)
OH GOD, LAST WEEK'S EPISODE OF FNL WAS BEYOND AWESOME. DEAR LORD, PLEASE GIVE US ANOTHER SEASON OF FNL, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.
ALSO, HEY, IT'S WAT DAY AND IT CONTINUES TO ABSOLUTELY AWWWWWWWWWWW ME. (Not, awe, so much). Jack and Sam are sort of hitting some bumps in the road with the baby's dad wanting to be in his life again, but they're handling it and are being all mature about it (or you know, trying). WARM AND FUZZY. AND THE BABY IS SO ADORABLE.

Ha, it seriously is. And I know what you mean about not forgetting, but sort of forgetting how awesome it is until you are actually watching it again!! LOVE!! And yes, Sam and Ainsley - 'you were joking about the all night pastry chef, weren't you?' Heh.
Ah. UK shows always know when to end earlier rather than later. Still need to watch the DVDs. I should move them up my mental list!!
FNL!! I can't believe the third season is over already! If there is a new season, does that mean there will be quite a big cast turnover??
BABY!!! JACK AND SAM!!! I need to watch more clips. [or at least rewatch ice-cream kissing!!]
