As if there wasn't enough change
We're putting Joshua into another school. We had been considering already putting him some place more preschool and less daycare. He is terrified of the teacher he'd go to next month for preschool and Joshua isn't terrified of anyone that he's known more than a few days- apparently all of the kids are scared of her and have rough transitions into her room- not a good situation. He's known this woman for several years but never interacted w/ her until the last few weeks.
Then Joshua's teacher got sick (very sick) and they didn't even bother to tell us. All of the sudden, we pick him up from daycare and he's crying, saying he's scared of daycare, doesn't want to go back, sobbing. Asks us in the morning if his teacher will be there and b/c we haven't been told so didn't know she was out, assured him that she'll be there. Except she wasn't.
She was gone for a week and then came back. She ended up having major surgery this week and will not be back until the 29th. And as soon as she gets back she is giving her two weeks notice b/c she doesn't like what has been happening lately. Says that kids are no longer the priority. She will be at least the seventh long time teacher (she's been there three years) to leave in the past five months.
So we found a great new school, took him there today to visit and he got upset w/ us b/c he wanted to stay and play with his new friends. Much, much better school so it's so worth it.
