Today's wakeup song was a remake of Midnight Train to Georgia.
It was freezing out at first park, and was cold for the rest of the day. The sun did make an appearance, but the wind was colder.
Yesterday was picture day for our class photo and TSE ID. There is a little motorised table where the dogs stand. We call it the dog elivator. When they take the pics, they have a squeaky toy, to get the dog's attention.
After breakfast, we did bus and train. We took the bus into Madison, and caught the train back. We also did platform work, where the dogs are taught to avoid the edge. Vanya did extremely well with this, as well as on the bus and train. The bus we were on announced the stops. I do love busses with audio anouncements.
On the way to the train station, there was a straight away block and we walked quite quickly. It was great feeling the wind blowing, and just walking with a dog.
After park, the merchandise table was set up with Seeing Eye products for sale. I bought a few things, as I always do.
After lunch, we went to the courthouse. This place is full of turns, some tighter than others, lots of stairs, and elivators. We nailed it, and one really has to follow one's dog very well.
I was reminded to always check to see why Vanya stopped, as she was at the top of some stairs a few times. I always remember, "follow your dog", even if I don't always do so in the moment. It was great though, and at one particular set of stairs, I came down to her level, and she kissed me, and snorted, as I made a fuss. She definately loves to show when she's pleased with herself, and at times, like on the way to the train today, wiggles her whole back end.
After dinner, we had the odds and ins lecture, talking about freedom in the room, free water, and being ft alone in our rooms. The Dear George letter was read, and OMG, it gets me every time. I'm getting a copy. It's about a TSE grad whose dog wasn't on leash as they went out to park. The dog saw something, ran after it, and was hit by a car. The grad heard it happen, and the dog was about 4. This was years ago, but they wrote that letter for all of us to be aware.
I had a nap after lecture, as it finished round 6:30. After park, a classmate and I decided to split a pizza from Godfathers. Of course, I had cider, but the pizza was awesome, complete with garlic, peperoni, mushrooms, peppers, yum!
I'm posting this later, as I fell asleep and didn't post last night. Vanya is making me laugh with her various groans. They change in pitch, and carry on at times.
Now, for the exciting news! It's, off, to, New York City, today! Yeaness in the extreme!!! I always love the city, and just working the dogs there, it's totally amazing, fun, cool, and just a real treat. Did I mention I love! NYC!
