Oh, boy!

Tomorrow is my surgery, and I'm a nervous wreck. It's actually amazing that I've made it 27 years without having to have anesthesia at any point, so perhaps I'm lucky?....I'm having all kinds of irrational fears, which is quite typical for me, but really, I just want tomorrow to be over with. Everything will be ok. Anesthesia is one of those things that seems like a monster from a distance, but then once you've had it, it is intriguing and somehow comforting (someone intervene if I'm the only weirdo who feels this way). The only time I was put under (for a procedure I won't gross you out with here), it was actually very liberating. Letting go of everything was actually very soothing for me. This is not to say that you will have the same experience, but maybe you will, and if that's the case, you have nothing to fear but the possibilty of major relief and at least a little bit of weirdness and disorientation, which can also be fun if not for anything other than the break in monotony.

With that said, I'll be thinking about you tomorrow. Please do update us on how it goes. Hang in there, and remember that it's ok to feel sorry for youself. Steve better baby you right good tomorrow.

I'm glad to hear that you'll be heading over to the UK with him! That will be an awesome trip, and I imagine it will be a nice reminder to you of Steve's background and what's made him who he is - that's the way a trip to Grant's home always does for me. Plus England is so great - even in January - it will be a lot of fun, I'm sure.

Take care, Julie and hang in there - it will be over and things will feel more normal soon.

I made it out fine! Thanks for your words of comfort; they definitely helped.

It is nice to go home with our significant others and see where they came from. i've only met steve's mom once, too, so i'm looking forward to spending some time with her.

what are your thanksgiving and/or christmas plans? maybe we can find a time during those breaks to hang out?....
