So this weekend is MBGLTACC in MN and I am a registered participant. Woo Hoo! I have also been referring to this as my big gay weekend. I'm staying with Lauren which should be fabulous and I have tentative plans to see CWM on Sunday before I head back. I guess she has a fabulous new Wii game and we have to play it. =) The workshops for the conference seem pretty exciting, I'm probably going to be taking notes because I am a huge nerd. A huge nerd who is so excited!
I finished reading Fast Food Nation. Holy hell, I know I was very anti red-meat before, but now I am even more so. From food poisoning to the fact that the worst meat that probably shouldn't be "consumed by humans" was bought by schools to use in their lunches. Children are obviously important. Schlosser talks about how cows are given all sorts of dead animals that have died from various diseases and fecal matter mixed in with the feed. I also think I will stop eating chicken nuggets, even though they are so tasty. They might be so tasty because of beef flavoring. Eww. Shamrock shakes will be the only thing worth getting at any fast food place. Speaking of which, they should be out now. I should get one on the way out of town.
Now I am reading "The Roots of Desire- the myth, meaning, and sexual power of red hair" by Marion Roach. I had to buy it. I just had to. I feel that the 13 minutes I have spent typing this has been enough. Have a great weekend!
