Well, the rest of break was very productive. Though I am still pissed about APC being canceled, I might get to go in June and that would be fabulous.
WRGLC was great! It sucked having to get up early everyday, but the speakers that I saw were good (for the most part) and I met some really great people. There were over 750 Greek leaders at this conference from all over the west coast. (I would like to especially note Chico State's IFC - DAMN! Very cute, intelligent, nice guys! :-) UCLA represented very well and our Panhellenic council won an award for scholarship (kudos to the ladies!). The best part of the trip involved all the going out and partying we did at and around the hotel - esp. with our UCLA IFC guys. I feel like I got to know them a lot better and that it was extremely beneficial. What a fun group!
As always, my secretary counterpart - Dan Chang (Pi Kappa Phi) and I worked well together. He pretty much took care of me the whole weekend and went with me to the hot tub when no one else wanted to... talked in the bar... helped me figure out a few things, etc. DAN ur my champion! lol I feel like I have made a good friend in him and will be sad to see him graduate this year.
Other than that, I also had fun getting to know the other girls on Panhellenic. We are all very different people, but I think that is what makes our council strong. We all came home wiped out because we ran for four days on like zero sleep (and our flight was delayed and we had a two hour meeting immediately after we got back to UCLA) BUT it was worth it. :-)
Thus, overall Spring Break ended on a happy note.
Class began yesterday and it looks like they will be difficult as always, but nothing I can't handle. I was surprised that the history of the 20th century opera requires so much writing and outside research. But Jeremy and I have it under control (let's hope). I am crossing my fingers that our TA let's him stay in the class (he has to miss section Fridays for track) bc I basically took it so that I could have one last class with him and learn something completely different than my major focus. Switching last min would NOT be fun, but we'll see.
DJ comes this weekend to LA with his swim team. Guess who is going to Pasadena to watch the meet? I was so jealous of his tan, ect. over break. DAMN - sports do the body good! ;.)
Ciao!
