... okay, I guess a big "DUH!" may be in order, because of course a lot has happened in the 18 weeks or so since I last posted lol.
I finished my second year teaching concert band at Immaculate, it went well, and I am returning for my third year this fall.
my son turned 18 in February, and just graduated from Immaculate and is now getting ready to head off to RPI next month for his freshman year of college.
after the Saturn started acting up (hey, it's got over 183K miles on it...), we purchased a 2009 Hyundai Sonata. So far, so good. It's a nice car, and we didn't get hosed on the price, what with their $3,000 rebate.
still playing with the Reel Thing (quite a bit), Chicks 'n Sync (starting to gear up again) and Fairfield Crossing (not so much), plus the possibility of at least one new band, and maybe a duo situation with a singer/guitarist.
celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary and went away for a few days to a lovely local inn overlooking a wonderful lake. Now that was a satisfying romantic getaway!
performed at the Old Songs Festival in June with my friends Donna and Jane and their band Groovemama, along with working with them and the kids of the Great Groove Band, and will be doing it again in August at the Philly Folk Festival. Gotta love those festivals! They are always such a blast!!
heading off to Quebec City in Canada the first week in August with my 3 sisters, for a ladies' week away in a rented condo in the heart of the Old Town. Can hardly wait!
And the biggie (as if the rest wasn't big enough) is that I just started a new position at Immaculate as the Director of Media and Communications for the school! I am the web master, and also do internal communications for students, parents and faculty, along with working with our area parishes and parochial schools. It makes me full time along with my band teaching position. I officially started July 1st, although the school president welcomed me to the job on June 24th. It's been busy but good so far. At least I have the summer to get acclimated, before all hell breaks loose in September ;-P
So that's my life for the past several months. I've been out here reading periodically, but a bit too busy to comment. Hope everyone has a great summer!
