my 50th birthday!

Well, here it is, nearing the end of my 50th birthday, and it's been a wonderful day. My husband had a great "Green Eggs and Ham" theme card for turning 50 ("You cannot see it in your face, you cannot see it anyplace!"... so you get the idea lol), I got my walk in early, had lunch out with my son, took a nap, showered, and then went to dinner at a good Indian restaurant in town with hubby and son. Other high points were two friends who wanted to take me to lunch (I postponed it due to my cold, and the fact that one of the friends just had her last radiation treatment for her cancer today, and I didn't want her to get sick from me), the best wishes from my friends on LJ and at Marsters' Mobsters, the flowers and card from my friend Lynn, the wonderful gladiola arrangement from my sister, brother-in-law and niece in Minnesota, the call and singing of Happy Birthday by my parents this morning, the dish of rose ice cream with the candle in it and the singing of Happy Birthday by the waiters at the Indian resturants (they brought out a party hat for me to wear too - how cute is that?!), the card and earrings made by my friend Maureen, who also sang Happy Birthday to me with her family, and finally the wonderful Spuffy story written for me by my dear friend calove - this was after she had flowers sent to me for my birthday too. What a wonderful friend! All my friends and family are terrific! I love them all.

Hubby and I shared a small split bottle of champagne to celebrate (I didn't want too much, what with the cold), and I knocked over my glass, spilling a lot of it. Oh well. There was enough left in the bottle to have a decent glass. And Ron and I had already toasted the day.

It's been a great day!
