Having taken three days to make up my mind and submitting at the last possible second, I'm now running off to work! I will come back and edit tonight with details!
ETA: Here we go with Suits, Bring It On and Shelter...
Introductory blah blah blah
Hi Santa,
I'm very excited that we matched on one of these fandoms! The post below is not meant to be a checklist of any kind, it's meant to be a bit of background info on what drew me to these fandoms, and fuel for ideas and inspiration. I hope there's something useful in here that kickstarts your thinking and your enthusiasm. I'll mention some general things first, and then talk about my three fandoms.
My favourite things in stories: m/m; smart, competent people; real human beings with flaws; happy endings; banter/snark; feelings that are never said but are clear through actions. Okay, and PINING. But pining is hard to write, especially when it's PINING pining. But I'll just mention it just in case. *g*
Things that won't disappoint me or bother me, so sure, go ahead: AUs, ambiguous or uncertain endings, gen, m/f, f/f, incest.
Perhaps not: dark themes, death, non-con, BDSM, torture, unhappy endings.
Most of all, however, I want you to be happy with the story you write! I honestly do not believe that the best stories get written by trying to check off some kind of feature list. They get written because a writer has a compelling idea and they follow it through with dedication and conviction. So please, if my stuff here does not match the story that wants you to write it, write the story that wants to be written. It will be the better one. :)

Suits resource post and does anybody remember where that awesome Suits pimping post was? Because awesome Suits pimping post was awesome.
I love the verve and style of this show, the fashion and the music. I love how these four characters are all people who are great at what they do, and bring passion and commitment to it. I love how the relationships between each of these characters are completely different - they spark off each other into such a variety of interactions. I love that they are quite willing to make fun of each other's weaknesses (or take advantage of them) but also don't hesitate to depend on each other's strengths. I definitely like me some Harvey/Mike, but I would also be very happy to receive gen or pretty much any other combination of the four above.
I also really enjoy the supporting cast of Suits - Louis, Jenny, Rachel, Trevor, Ray, etc, so feel free to bring them along. :)

Trailer
Okay, I think this movie is completely awesome. If you haven't seen it, yes, it's about high school cheerleaders. But it's funny, clever, and not entirely predictable, with a great ensemble of characters. What I love about it is that the characters are all, in their own way, indomitable, and the movie is about what happens when a bunch of very determined people with very different backgrounds and personalities interact over a bunch of stuff they care very deeply about. Torrance is hilarious, a well-intentioned cheer-obsessed maniac, and I love the way she interacts with everybody - Missy, Cliff, Isis, the Toros, her brother.
It's Torrance, Missy and Cliff that really have my heart in the movie, whether that's in a gen way or a shippy way. I really believe in both Torrance/Missy and Torrance/Cliff, and indeed one of the things that hooks my brain about that movie is, How does that work? How does it play out when somebody is a great match with two different people, and those two people are a brother and sister? I also enjoy the interactions between Missy and Cliff, the casual disrespect that sits over what is clearly a strong brother-sister bond.
The other thing that captures me is, How does Torrance translate in a non-cheerleading world, or transition to it? One of the sub-themes of the movie is whether or not Torrance is throwing away her talent on cheerleading, and I'd love to see that explored further.

Trailer (and again, did somebody do a pimping post for this? I am failing so hard at Google today.)
This movie is such a warm fuzzy happy place for me. I love that the characters are pretty real, pretty flawed, but remain sympathetic even when you really disagree with what they're doing. It is one of those movies where, for me watching, I don't know how it's possible for it to work out, and then when it does, it's clear that this was the best thing for everybody.
But the ending also leaves me with this sort of nervousness about the practicalities of everything. How do Shaun and Zach get it to work - school, Cody, Jeanne, money? As the movie ends you know they're in the right place together, but there are so many difficult things still in front of them. What I'd most like is a story that tells me something about how it works out, whether that's in the immediate term or in the longer term. I'm also interested in the relationship between Zach and Gabe, and Gabe and Cody. Gabe's an awesome character, and Zach and Shaun getting together changes a lot of things for him, so I'm curious about how he responds to that.
That is all, I think. Thank you so much in advance, lovely author, and good luck!!
