that worked out well ...

I had some concerns regarding having my little trollop Nayjah fixed.  I've never had a cat that has had a litter then was fixed, so was unsure how it would affect her personality, especially with regards to her babes.  IronThunder had said that Kaylee's attitude towards her babies changed drastically when she returned from the vet -- she was, apparently, so OVER the whole mommy thing at that point.

Even after her surgery, even after a week of isolation to recover without fear of having stitches ripped open, even though the kittens are now eating crunchies (supplemented by canned kitten food) regularly, and even though they are now 14wks old, not only is Nayjah still as loving & patient with them as she always was, but they still nurse occasionally & she permits it.  I was actually quite surprised at that.

On the other hand, however, since she isn't so concerned with the idea of getting out to partay with the local talent, she has become even more affectionate to us, and her kitten-y playful personality is starting to shine through again.  I love watching her chasing her kittens around & wrestling with them, only for the whole grey mass to fall exhausted into a pile where mommy cleans the babies & they all fall sound asleep.

My warm fuzzies give me the warm fuzzies.  =)
