You will indeed see such 'mistakes' of fraternal incest throughout the series. (And especially in the sixth season, it seems like...). Supernatural: Where RPS is the moral high road. Not that slash fans care, and god the meta episodes are great.

Just a warning, however, for some race!fail, gender!fail, and gay!fail. Doesn't usually bother me because there's always something over which to get offended in anything, and because I don't take it that seriously anyway, but I've known people to rant. At great length.

RPS = "Real Person Slash" (and RPF = "Real Person Fiction," usually gen or het). That means instead of writing Sam/Dean, people will write Jared/Jensen - that way you avoid the incest but still get the pretty men fucking each other.
