Okay, let's face it, I am a die-hard Duran Duran fan, and I love this song, so any direction that you wanted to take it in would be wonderful, setting wise, modern-day, historical setting, say, Prohibition Era, Jazz Era, Big Band, Old West, Sci-Fi.
Who is the narrator addressing? Have they met previously? What is their relationship to one another? Are they both wanted criminals? Or are they on opposing sides? If they are on the same side: I'm thinking kinda like Bonnie and Clydeish here, have they had a falling out?
Just some thoughts, really, go wild here and I will be sure to love it to pieces!

I just rewatched the movie Burlesque starring Cher and Christina Aguleria and I fell in love with this song. Obviously, the song is what I'm here for. I would love to see what could be with it. You can keep it set in the Hollywood or New York, or Paris. From any era from current modern to WWII to the Old West, to the Jazz Era, to Scifi, and I would be very happy.
Who is she addressing, is it a jilted lover. Another rival, or a society in which she is no longer a part. Is it for revenge or redemption? Or has she simply falling on hard times and vows to do whatever it takes to show the world, society, or the industry, dancer, singer, that she still has what it takes to be a star again?
If you have another idea for the narrator's story and the people who populate her world, go for it.
I love a slice of life, back-story, world-building, mystery/procedural, action/adventure, crossovers.
I would be open to chasing up the genders of the narrator if you would like, just no genderbends.
Likes: plot-driven stories and characterization.

I would like to see this from both the narrator's point of view and the person being addressed in the song. I would live if the story was given a film noir thriller romance treatment say Paris or London , but feel free to set in any city/time period of your choice and I would love it to bits.
If you make her/him a spy maybe someone who has gone rogue/ and her partner must find him before its too late, captured or turned by the hostile agency/country, what have you?
Maybe she's an intelligence gatherer and gets caught behind enemy lines? Just some ideas.
Feel free to go all out on this one.
