Coldplay - Viva La Vida

A bit of a strange one from me now! Coldplay isn't really a band that I liked - don't exactly like them a lot now, just odd songs from their past records have grabbed my attention, especially Talk. They always come across as a bit of a miserable, playing on middle class, university educated band! But I have to say that the first two singles from their latest CD are excellent.
I really like this one Viva la Vida (Spanish for Long Live Life), as I have a soft spot for orchestral type arrangements - and there is plenty usage of strings and Timpani drums (or you can call them kettle drums!)
This song reached number one in the UK singles charts without actually being officially released in a physical form! Recent changes to record sales in the Uk now include digital downloads within the singles sales. Lots of people legally downloaded it and it hit the top spot! When the Led Zeppelin back catalogue was released on iTunes Stairway To Heaven entered the top 40 as enough people brought the same album track! Welcome to the future!!!
