W.A.S.P. - Hold on to my Heart

Third and final track from the "The Crimson Idol" is the big ballad on the album. Time to get out those cigarette lighters, or in 2007 with all the health and safety regulations, more likely a glowing mobile phone!

W.A.S.P. have never been afraid to churn out and release a rock ballad on their albums, even at the height of their shock rock antics (blood drinking on stage, throwing raw meat into the crowd, exploding cod pieces, the torture rack and feather pillow fights - oh, so rock 'n' roll!) From the start with "Sleeping (In The Fire)" on their debut, "Cries In The Night", "Forever Free" and Snowy's favourite "Breathe" taken from their "Still Not Black Enough" album. But to me this is one of the best ballads Blackie Lawless has penned.

Hope you enjoyed this little foray into the world of W.A.S.P. and "The Crimson Idol", or if you are reading this backwards, which is more likely the way it will look, I hope you will enjoy my trip back to 1992 and "The Crimson Idol". The whole album is worth checking out (in my opinion anyway) as this is one of the band's best records that they have released to date. And I can't wait till Wednesday (Halloween night) to see the album performed in it's entirety!

I wonder if I've still got my shirt from the original Idol tour?

There's a flame, flame in my heart
And there's no rain, can put it out
And there's a flame, it's burning in my heart
And there's no rain, ooh can put it out
So just hold me, hold me, hold me

Take away the pain, inside my soul
And I'm afraid, so all alone
Take away the pain, that burning in my soul
Cause I'm afraid that I'll be all alone
So just hold me, hold me, hold me

Hold on to my heart, to my heart, to me
Hold on to my heart, to my heart, to me
And oh no, don't let me go cause all I am
You hold in your hands, and hold me
And I'll make it through the night
And I'll be alright, hold on, hold on to my heart
