Nah, it's okay, man. I haven't talked to you in a while! Which is probably my fault due to my absence from LiveJournal.
I think the really good thing to take out of these shitty situations is that rather than get bummed out and feel sorry for yourself (which is okay to some extent), you've gained one more piece of information to prevent yourself from ending up with a trainwreck of a girl. Many people find first love (or just relatively young, immature love) and don't know how to function before, after, and during it. They attach themselves to the person so badly for the wrong reasons that they don't take the time to explore and make mistakes and fall for the wrong people so they can truly value someone who is cool and has a good head on their shoulders.
I'm sorry you think you're stuck in a shitty situation. But honestly, you're smart. The job market is rough and a girl like that will drive you to bankruptcy. As for the eighteen year old, it's a tough situation. I always feel that emotional maturity tends to get the better of those kinds of relationships (and not the big stuff, usually... the disparity on the little things really brings out age). But good luck to that and keep me updated on your progress with her. :)
