"I don't miss anything from home," Brad says, gazing at the general direction where Nate just left.

Today's been better, if only because my stomach's bitching have subdued, not to mention that my new DVD player's arrived and it's beautiful. Even better: it works!

No, seriously, my old DVD player was acting wonky for a while, and in the last few months it stopped working. Coincidentally, so did my parents' DVD player. So we just decided to buy two, and wow, wasn't it weird, buying two DVD players at once.

Anyway. It's here and it's pretty and it works, so hopefully I'll start watching TV shows again. Because watching episodes in the computer sucks, and it makes my back hurt. So now I can just throw the latest Leverage and In Plain Sight in my flashdrive, and voilá! I don't even have to bitch that my laptop DVD burner isn't working anymore too.

And so I got my DVD player today and watched Generation Kill - what, you were expecting something else? I ended up watching "Bomb in the Garden", and damn, I always forget how much that episode depresses me. I always feel the need to chant "they're alive, they're alive" after I finish watching it to cheer me up. I mean, I'll take the small victories.

Speaking of GenKill - always -, fandom's been busy lately, but I confess I was expecting more fics because of the Porn Skirmish. I don't know. It's such a good idea. It's moments like this that I regret not being able to write fic. *sigh*

Hah. That would be something to see.

And speaking of fics, I was wondering the other day on the bus (yes, I do that) that this fandom is so awesome that we don't really get the usual cliché fics. And for that I'm thankful - really, the fandom is so awesome that fics just appear out of the nowhere in comments, and even the crack!fics (or maybe especially those) are amazing. But you know what? Sometimes I miss good old cliché fic - I mean, with the quality level of authors in this fandom, I'm betting even those would be awesome. Like, say, whump!fic - what would happen if Nate got hurt, for example (not deadly, just enough to give Bradpeople a scare)? Or the very vulgarly commonplace 'getting set up in a blind date' fic? Oh! Perhaps my favourite bad, no good, really horrible cliché fic: memory loss!

Heh. Somehow I think it would end up being funny.

Or, you know. Not.

i ship therefore i am, ramblings, generic tv babble, i'm siiiiiiick, capitalism yay!, tv: generation kill, ficcity fic
