In which I babble about girlie stories. And Jane Austen. Redundant, y/y?

I hate letting go of a book in the middle of it, but I'm afraid I must do so this time - and to make matters worse, a Jane Austen book too! It's all kind of wrongs to admit it, but I can't stand Mansfield Park! And I really *really* tried to read it - I even reached half of it - but ugh. So I did the only reasonable thing: borrowed Tissa's Mansfield Park movie and instead of waiting to watch it after I've finished the book, I watched it just now (considering, you know, I won't read the whole book, like, ever).

The movie is not much better than the book - and not terribly true, from what I managed to gather from my reading - but whatever. Less painful than to read yet another 200 pages of booooooooring story.

Because I hate Fanny Price. I hate a Jane Austen heroine! How wrong is that? I feel like I should have my feminine card revoked or something.

So I probably should just erase it's dreadfulness by watching Pride and Prejudice - the movie may not be enough; I shall need more hours of it, so I'll probably pick the mini-series. Or the book itself.

Or I should watch Persuasion again - and when I mean again, I mean again today, as I've already seen it earlier. It's a bad TV movie, as bad as all TV movies are, but at least the story is better. Also, the actor that plays Captain Wentworth? Day-um! I can't, for the love of God, remember what else I've seen of his, but he's not a stranger. I guess he's also one more reason for me to finally watch Spooks?

In other news, it's colder than usual and that is just not right. Good thing that I have absolutely nothing to do - like, AT ALL - and it's a perfect day to stay in bed and watch sappy movies. Which, apropos, it's what I've been doing, as aforementioned.

Hi. How are you today? :)

movie: pride & prejudice, books, jane austen is a girly writer, movies, boredom of doom
