Yet another football induced post.
So. There's still an hour until the next game, and people are already going crazy with the horns and bugles. Geez. And that's because Brazil is already guaranteed in the next phase. I cannot even begin to image how things will be next week - hopefully on Tuesday.
I say hopefully because if we play on Tuesday, that means we will 1st place in our group - which also means we don't need to face Italy, always a good thing. *But*, save a disaster, we'll probably face Ghana, and I don't know how well we will play against those FAST, YOUNG players. Know what I mean? Good Lord, why BOTH our wingbacks are almost forty again? Damn. But anyway. To win this damn thing, we can't choose adversaries, right? Right. Let's just hope we're up for the challenge (which I totally think we're not, especially considering our poor performances).
As for the game today, it will be interesting... I hate the coach of my team (because he's a stupid, stubborn ass), but I want him to succeed, because duh, that means my team succeeds as well; on the other hand, I like the coach of the other team (OMG Zico!) and still, I want him to fail terribly, because Lord only knows we need a good victory, with lots and lots of goals. Oh, well.
And if we win today, I want to eat Japanese! [/bad pun]
On other (still football, sorry) news, it is very funny to read the BBC's stories about the Brazilian team (like this one) - it's almost a mix with disappointment for the terrible games we're playing, and hope that we're playing terribly. Heh. And have I mentioned how freaking lucky the British are, for having pretty, dear Leonardo commenting the games on BBC? *sigh*
Heh. Some coach (I think) was asked if he has ever seen a player like England's Peter Crouch, and he replied "Yes. On NBA." Hee! But it's true - Crouch is scary, dude (could he be any more awkward? I don't think so). That, and I always think of Barty Crouch when I hear his name (especially with the overdose of David Tennant's icons on my FL because of Doctor Who). And yes, my immediate connection with the HP world possibly shows that I'm too much of a fangirl, I agree.
And just because I mentioned the English team, ohmygod Beckham is hot! [/repetitive]
Oh. And I made some football icons. A very random and ordinary and weird (and fugly, yes) batch, but hey, at least I've finally made them. I had those pictures saved in my laptop for ages. And I will ignore the fact that I should have been studying instead of making icons because really, details.
Also, I'd like to thank the darling _theguest for finding and posting Jim Noir's "Eanie Meanie" - you know, from the "José + 10" Adidas' ad? I've been looking for this song for ages, so I'm posting it here too to spread the love. ;)
