I haven't seen part 1 of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and I'm not sure I will... every time an ad plays on tv for part 2 I get vaguely sad and definitely nostalgic. I'm not certain why, other than my 24th birthday is next month and Harry Potter occupied a significant part of my adolescence and maybe I'm loathe to part with that and accept that I'm an adult.

I will say that today I was in a Barnes and Noble and I had to resist buying everything on display for Harry Potter (ie legos, Hermione's wand, stickers, etc). If I see the last movie, it's accepting that Harry Potter is at an end, truly.

I can say that nothing has ever captioned my imagination as Harry Potter did, and even though there are things I will nitpick over when it comes to JK Rowling's plot and characters, I will always treasure the books. I was never as involved in fandom as with Harry Potter and I never wrote as much for anything else. So maybe it's understandable that I'm a little down about the end of an era.

Anyway, I do hold hope to one day find something else to capture my attention as raptly as Harry Potter did. :-)
