Productivity

Being Productive. It's a good feeling. It makes all efforts put forth not so... wasted (especially if you're like me). It makes time pass a little more enjoyably. Just knowing that you've actually DONE something, ACCOMPLISHED a task, etc, brings great self-satisfaction leaving optimism and almost... a sort of HUNGER for more. Maybe this is why there are "workaholics" in the world.

I'm no workaholic though, I'm quite the opposite, I hate working. The word "work" kind of stresses me out... unless "work" meant that I could do art everyday for the rest of my existence, I could be happy with ART work ;) And that's exactly what I plan on doing, it's just going to take me some time.

Here's what I need to do:

Get a Job >> Save up money >> get an apartment >> get transcripts from last school >> apply to new school of choice>> apply for scholarships, grants and financial aid>> get accepted to school >> following grants/scholarships/merit/loans-GO to school >> finish school earning myself a BA or BFA>> move on to job doing art!

Oh and in between it all: Practice art, learn, and grow, don't procrastinate and be PRODUCTIVE!

SO yesterday I took my own advice. I made a list (weeks ago) about "Things I want to LEARN" and on that list was that I wanted to learn more about digital painting and to look up some free online tutorials. I did. I learn visually, which psht, what artist Doesn't? haha. So although I had no luck whatsoever finding tutorials for what I needed, I think the outcome was rather.. well, it was rather awesome.

It took me about 3 hours. So for that length of time, I'm very happy with the outcome. With more practice and time, I'm sure I'll get even better.

Over those 3 hours though, I felt progress, I was happy with it, even if I struggled through parts of the piece, I figured it out and moved forward. I felt very productive. I felt like my whole day wasn't a complete waste after all. :)

So I think I will continue this list of mine; "Things I want to Learn"

And working towards a rewarding goal always helps :)

Try and be PRODUCTIVE!
