the birthday was fab.
i was woken up super early (6am) by the mother clunking around the house.. but it was ok. amanda called at 8:07am because i was born at 8:08am... then i did cake and prezzies with the fam. my parents gave me a beautiful pearl bracelet and necklace, i loove them both even though i usually hate wearing bracelets.. i went to philosophy and then came home and skyped with nathalie and arielle which was wonderful. amanda came over and we got ready for dinner and made it to earls by 6pm. dinner was soo much fun - it was me, amanda, roxy, baily, katie, yarden, mel and golda. i'm sooo glad everyone got along so well - i love it when different groups of friends mesh well with one another. golda sent me the most beautiful flowers at dinner!! i love my friends. we were there until about 8:30pm - katie left after dinner because she had work in the morning and then adam picked up amanda. the rest of us headed over to the sticky wicket for another drink before going to element... the stupid bouncers wouldn't let baily in so she left with roxy and the rest of us got a few more drinks while waiting for marcus. it was sooo, though, good just hanging out with mel, yarden and golda. after that we all walked over to upstairs where a bunch of JSAers were already hanging out. it wasn't super busy downtown because it was pouring rain but i had good people with me so that's clearly all that matters. drinks in canada are so much cheaper than in israel. shots are about $7 cheaper here, which is ridiculous.
then yesterday i went to lunch at pagliacci's with the madre and padre. it's impossible for us to go to a restaurant and not talk about the industry... that is all i'll say. afterwards we went up to antique row so i could check out Skanda - i want to take jewelry lessons. i really like that block of fort st., it's detached from the rest of downtown so its less sketchy and there's a looot of really cool looking stores that i've never been in. i think i'll take jacob there tomorrow... we ran into janis brinley, jocelyn abrams and sheila wynne as we were heading home - it was soo nice to bump into them.
that brings me to the most exciting part of this weekend........ JACOB WILL BE HERE IN LIKE 5 HOURS. alfdjalsdkfjs i cannot wait to see him. we're going for dinner at the pub and then who knows. except i sort of feel guilty about going there for dinner since the wrong schedule got posted at work and it says i was supposed to work even though i made it clear that i couldn't work this weekend. then they tried to get me to work anyways. whatever it is NOT my fault.
i should seriously work on my english term paper now.
