So, on Friday when I was out having a few de-stressing drinks after a looong week, I was informed by an LJ/Facebook friend (Carey) that one of our LJ/Facebook friends (Diane) had passed from metastatic colon cancer. It hit me like a ton of bricks. Not only did I want to meet Diane one day in Georgia, but we were really good online buddies, and we followed each other's journals pretty closely. She was a very interesting and special person.

It really scared me because Diane was exactly one day younger than my mother. I cannot even fathom my parents getting sick or dying. Not yet.

I am really concerned about her Scottie, Jock. I am in contact with some of Diane's Georgia people about him. I don't want him to go to a shelter. If they can't get him into a Scottie rescue, I said that I would be available to help. I have already started to ask around to see if anyone around me would like a Scottie. I also haven't told my parents about the idea of fostering/maybe adopting Jock. We'll have to see. I don't think my parents could really say no to at least fostering Jock. I think that we all have little Franklyn sized holes in our hearts.

Anyway, so yeah....very sad.

Jenny's bachelorette party was last night. We went to Psycho Suzi's and Nye's. We shared a gigantic drink that was on fire at Psycho's. We had plans to go all over the place, but we ended up staying at Nye's for the polka band. Jen and her mom are big into their German heritage. I was just glad that we weren't going clubbing like a lot of other bachelorette parties end up doing. :) We all had name tags that were penises. Everyone else had happy, mostly long penises. Mine was limp and had a concerned look on his face. A lot of folks were laughing at Limpy, and I was getting offended for him! :D

It was pretty odd. Toward the end of the night, we had a bit of a following. This was interesting because there was a guy from India, one from Germany, one from England, one from Canada, and one from Brazil. The English guy was my favorite. His accent was slipping a little bit. Mark Wheat (89.3 The Current DJ) has a much stronger accent. Anyway, as my level of alcohol intoxication increased, I kept suggesting that he say/yell bullocks. And he wasn't saying it like they do in the movies, so I kept asking for him to try again.

Apu, the Indian guy's actual name, was incredibly crabby. He wasn't really a part of the following, but I was trying to engage him for awhile. I don't think that I've ever met an Indian person who was as crabby as he was. It was very strange to my drunken mind. I got him to smile a couple of times, but wow, it was hard to do let me tell you!

I was surprised that both Jenny and her mom stayed out until bar close. I think one more shot and Jen would have been finished, but she realized it, stopped, had some water, and then partied on. Yay! It was an all around fun night!

So yeah...wanna know why I'm a huge dork? At my high school reunion last year, a bunch of the "popular girls" were talking to me and such. And then last night, I saw a few more of them, and we were talking like old friends. I wasn't exactly a nerd, but I wasn't popular either. I always kind of wanted to be popular. It's secretly thrilling to me when the popular people talk to me and don't pretend not to recognize me. I'm pathetic. :o
