i heard the cutest thing while at work yesterday...
i was stocking hot dogs (i'm now in the meat dept. don't ask) and this woman walks by with her two kids in one of those carts that looks like a car, to keep the kids occupied. somehow the word "dell" came up and the mom said "that's where the farmer lives" (the farmer in the dell, get it) and this little kid, no more that three or four says, "no, that's the computer". it was pretty funny.
anyway, i got my check for the extra work i did and the miniscule amount will help with bills and the such. life is going at a rather slow pace, seeing as i have no money to do anything. hopefully that will all change soon. i had an interview last friday, and while it sounded like i got the job, they have yet to call me. they did say it would be a week, but i am impatient. they start employees out at 10.43 an hour so it would be even more that i was making at morningside house. hopefully it comes through.
also,
qrissy told me about a temp agency called Todays in baltimore, and they called me today to set up an interview. i have been debating all day about whther to call or not, but i think i will. i have never applied to a temp agency before, so i am kind of wary as to how they work. however, anything has to be better than my current situation. i have twenty hours at 6.50 on this check coming up, so you can do the math. it's not working. i'll probably call them. their baltimore ofice is all the way on the other side of the harbor, in federal hill/south balto., but i checked it out today, and i can catch the bus there and take the water taxi, which will drop me off practically on their doorstep. so wish me luck, i guess.
i also went to the computer show with
skirtchasinhomo and
dundalkshorty and i bought myself a tutorial for MS Office XP, so i am currently trying to teach myself so as to have a better chance at getting a good paying job. it seems to be a relly great piece of software, and i only got it for 12.95. now the hard part will be saving up to get the actual office software. the cheapest i have found it is for around 295.00. i could pay for driver's ed with that much, which i also need to save up for. on top of x-mas shopping money and bills. so now we all see why this current job just aint cutting it. it feels like a catch-22.
i think i am approaching my quarter-life crisis.
