[It seems someone dropped the PCD while training, because the only view is of a blue sky complete with fluffy blue clouds--and a giant pillar of ice. After a few seconds, the column shatters into glittering shards, tinkling faintly as they fall to the ground

[Rukia is running through some easy kata while waiting for Raven--she's never seen the other woman fight, which means this will be even more interesting.]

[As announced it doesn't take Raven very long to join Rukia in the wastes. She lands softly on a boulder, at a reasonable distance from the shinigami, so that she won't interrupt her practice.]

[As Raven lands, Rukia finishes a form on a downstroke and lowers her sword before turning toward her.]

Good to see you could make it. You said sparring... [She's not going to ask straight out what her weapon is, but it would be polite to find out, so...]

[Raven nods in greeting.]

I did. [She carries no weapon. Because she uses none. Yet any object around her may become a weapon for Raven.] Your kidou and zampakutou against my magic. [Her ice zampakutou is more beautiful than Hitsugaya's but she wonders how powerful it is.]

Very well. [She sets herself in a defensive posture, ready to react.]

[Raven smoothly falls into a fighting stance and nods.]

I'm ready.

[She doesn't move. Her eyes briefly glowing white are the only indication she actually did something. And then a dozen of the big rocks surrounding them are lifted from the ground by an invisible force and flying at Rukia at high speed.]

[Boy it's a good thing Rukia can flash step out of the way of those. She's small, but quick.

She lands and waits for Raven's next move, on the defensive for now.

[But Raven doesn't intend to show all her cards just yet. That first attack was very useful to assess Rukia's speed. She's fast, though not as fast as Hitsugaya. She stares evenly at Rukia.]

[In response, Rukia takes a hand off her sword to aim it at Raven, at the same time calling out]

Hado no San-jyuu-ichi, Shakkaho!

[And that's a ball of red, destructive kidou spell energy headed for
Raven.]

[The kidou spell Nemu used to attract the sheep. Good thing Raven asked her about it. She waits until Rukia actually release the red ball, so that she won't be able to change its trajectory and swiftly takes off, dodging it quite easily.]

[Two blasts of black energy are aiming at Rukia from above.]

[Well that's new and different, though they kind of look like cero... so maybe they'll work the same way? It's a gamble she's willing to take, as she dodges one and attempts to deflect the other with her blade.]
