Butt fly
So I was way behind in learning how to read and write. The whole concept to me didn't make sense. I didn't learn to read until late into second grade. And in third grade, we would have your normal every week spelling test. And instead of learning the word by writing it how it sounded, I would just memorize what letters went where, because the whole "sound it out" thing never worked for me.
The word was: butterfly.
I started to spell the word, but couldn't remember some of the letters, so I left them out until I could think of which they were. I left a space so I would remember to fill something in. Only- I forgot. So I got my test back, and I missed one word. Apparently, "butt fly" was not a word on our spelling list that week :-P
Now I'm going to go write my 6 page paper on Madame Butterfly. I'll try not to write butt fly. But I make no promises :-P
