Aftermath....

Aug 26, 2005 14:11

Only one person actually met me immediately after my orals, so we went for food, and then had time to nkill, so we played racquetball. The only problem was that neither of us had appropriate shoes. So we both just took them off and played barefoot. By the end of it, I'd developed a blood blister on the ball of my foot that was about an inch and a half wide by an inch long. It was actually kinda cool, because not only could I feel the blood squishing every time I stepped on it, but by pushing on it with a finger, the color changed as the blood moved around inside the pocket. Anyway, I came back home and performed surgery on myself, draining it, clipping the flap of skin off, and taping a gauze pad over it.

We then went to meet other people at Replay, and then adjourned to someone else's house when the band started. At that point, we proceeded to get throroughly messed up, and a couple of the people made a Priscilla's run, looking for porn bloopers. They didn't have any, so instead they picked up a couple others, including Deep Throat, which most of the people there had never seen, and Space Nuts, which was a Star Wars knock-off and was obviously made by geeks. It was chock full of inside geek jokes, and was pretty funny, but the actual porn bits were boring, and showed a distinct lack of creativity.

Anyway, the night was a lot of fun. I got home and to bed somewhere around 5:30, skipped my geology class, and rolled my ass out of bed at 10:30 to go supervise in the anatomy lab. It was not a good time. The headache is almost gone now, and I've finally eaten, but my equilibrium is still a bit off.

I'd love to just vegetate and recuperate in general for the rest of the day, but I really need to go do laundry. First, though, a couple memes:

Journeying, OK fine. The Galactic Learning, though, is right on.

Pure Nerd
69 % Nerd, 39% Geek, 39% Dork

For The Record: A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia. A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one. A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions. You scored better than half in Nerd, earning you the title of: Pure Nerd.

The times, they are a-changing. It used to be that being exceptionally smart led to being unpopular, which would ultimately lead to picking up all of the traits and tendences associated with the "dork." No-longer. Being smart isn't as socially crippling as it once was, and even more so as you get older: eventually being a Pure Nerd will likely be replaced with the following label: Purely Successful.

Congratulations!

Also, you might want to check out some of my other tests if you're interested in either of the following:

My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

You scored higher than 72% on nerdiness

You scored higher than 55% on geekosity

You scored higher than 71% on dork points
