(no subject)
So, yesterday turned out to be a pretty good day...
When I went on my first break, I called that guy back about that job. I told him I wasn't interested in a temp-to-hire position as I'm not willing to give my job up of 6+ years for that. Then he asked what I wanted money wise and I told him between $14-$15 an hour. He asked how I felt about a permanent hire position starting at $13/hr with potential for more. I said it sounded damn near perfect!! I know I'm not going to find a job starting at $14 or $15/hr so I kinda just threw those out there to see what he'd say. Plus, a lot of places offer 6 month review and raises so who's to say in 6 months (if I got the job) I wouldn't be making $13.50 or even more? I don't even know how many times he said he really liked my resume and my background was perfect for this job and yadda yadda yadda. So, I'm going to meet w/him before work tomorrow. The only thing that sucks is that he's out by the airport so I have to drive an hour to get there. Gay. I have to leave the house no later than 7 am tomorrow, probably will leave at like 6:45 actually. Drive all that way for a 20 minute meeting so I sure hope something comes of this!!! But we'll see. Overall, I'm very excited and anxious for it. It still makes me nervous to start something new but it just sounded like a good opportunity and I'm down for an extra $1.60/hr!!!
And then my other good news. Our DVR has been acting up for the last couple weeks and I just kept forgetting to call the cable company. I finally called last night and after waiting on hold for 10 minutes got through to someone. He re-set it so our DVR is working again, yay! But the good part is while I set the phone down so I could pull out the TV and unplug the cable box, he found a promotion their having where we get all the same features we have now PLUS the digital cable channels (like an extra 100 or so channels) for $10 LESS than we're paying now. AND somehow it gave us a $40some credit so our bill next month is only going to be like $35. Hot Shit.
