Bet you thought you'd find me writing about Chasey Lane, huh? Tough luck, bucko. I just can't always think of a subject.
I've recently been getting really frustrated with a lot of things as of late. Most of which involve my work experience. I'm finding it harder and harder to get myself to go in for my shift. It's not like I actually want to miss work either, I needs my pay, and Cub isn't that terrible a place to work. It's almost a hassle to me. I'm tired of hearing and witnessing good workers like Sarah get put down. That and people that are under me in seniority getting more hours than me. People at work say I should talk to my manager or Human Resourses about it, but then I'd feel like I'm complaining about nothing, and that I'm not sympothatic towards Gail (see my last entry about her) cause she has a kid. Sure, I was sympothetic at first, but like I said before, I can only take too much. Especially when I wanted to save money for college and start paying my parents rent, but I can't with only having $165 a week (a normal one at that) and a couple of bills to pay as it is.
I have many ideas that could change my Deli experience, as well as for my co-workers. Here's what I got so far:
Have each person work at least one 3pm-10pm shift a week.
- This way, the same 3 people (namely Chris, Sarah and myself), exluding White, aren't regulated to those tasks. White obviously is a special case, since he only works three 5-hour days.
Don't schedule people that work night to work morning the next day.
- People like to go home and do something after work (such as eat or do their shopping). Most of us that work a 7am shift, we get up at 5am or earlier. I know for one if I have to go straight home to get some sleep for work the next morning, I tend to be crabby for both shifts.
Follow the seniorty rules.
- No more problems with people complaining about so-and-so having more hours than themselves. The three full-timers, yes, always get full-time hours. People in #4-9 get the same hours, and people #9-12 get the same.
If hours are cut, everyone's hours are cut.
- People don't like it when they're hours are cut, yet one person still gets 40+8. This eliminates the problem.
Man, I should be a manager.
