Got My Stethoscope

Aug 19, 2009 03:01

Today was quite eventful. I got my stethoscope and learned how to take a patient's vital signs. I can now read your blood pressure, take  your pulse, judge your respirations, etc. I'm very excited. It's nice to be learning some actual, hands-on stuff instead of just reading and writing. I know the text is important but I feel like, in order to learn how to save someone's life, you need to practice physically. Not just read and write.
I'm still REALLY fucking sore, I want to go to the doctors tomorrow but my mom can't drive because she recently found out she had nerve damage in her spinal cord and is slowly losing feeling and control of her legs but they caught it early so surgery can reverse it. Not only that, but she doesn't seem to really care that I got into a motorcycle accident which makes me kind of sad. I mean, I'm walking, which only makes me a Priority three, but My side hurts when I breathe or move or laugh or cough really bad which means something can be wrong inside. Other than that, my knee just hurts really bad.
Jeff is allowing me to turn the room across from mine into a television room/study room (more television than anything) so I need to keep an eye out for couches to put in there. So excited. He also gave me his old computer desk, which is about as big as my laptop but it looks nice in my room and can fit a lamp so, if I need a desk, I can just unplug my laptop and study on here for now. My boyfriend may be selfish, mean, sarcastic, and heartless but I love him sometimes <3. Heheh.
This morning, Midnight (the cat) woke me up around eight so I crawled into his bed (we both slept alone last night because I was in so much pain I was afraid I would get hurt more sleeping next to him). Anyways, I crawled into bed with him this morning and he surprised the shit out of me. He just took me into his arms and hugged me and snuggled. It was adorable. I love it when he does things like that.
Mischief is losing more and more hair and Loki has developed a nasty cough which I'm really worried about but I honestly do not have the money to bring him to the vet right this second. I think Mischief's hair problem is because I haven't been giving him his Ferretone as often as I used to so I'm going to try to be more diligent with that in the future and see if he improves. As far as Loki's cough goes, I think it may be from the dust so I cleaned the shit out of my room today, despite the pain, so we'll see if that helps as well. If not, then I'll figure something out. I'll just have to wait until I get my check to take him to the vet. Hopefully he won't get worse in the meantime.
Oh, one more thing. I took my first quiz today. Sooo nervous when I got it but I think I got a maximum of three wrong, definitely got one wrong though. I read the stupid fucking question wrong and I KNEW the answer to. So heated. It's just a quiz though, it won't hurt my grade too much. I've been checking the website constantly for my grade hahah. I'm pissed because I checked my attendance, which is one hundred percent, on the website and it says I was absent on the first day of class... which I wasn't. I've been there every day since class started. I emailed the teacher about it thought so it should be fixed shortly, I hope.
That's all for tonight, I'm sore and going to take a muscle relaxer and try to sleep and then wake up in a couple of hours to crawl into bed with my man, night guys.
