A funny story:
I took a class called Constitutional Law and the subject of abortion came up. I took the pro abortion side and one of my points was against the State opposing the third trimester viability possibility. This means that after the sixth month till the ninth a woman can’t abort if there is a high probability of the baby living, surviving out of the womb. So, I said that it was a clear violation of the mother's right since it would mean that the baby she did not want would stay alive and would probably be asking for her in the future. Soooo, I went on to say:
"Professor what would that mother do if that baby came by 18 years later asking for her. Asking why did she throw him/her out?"
Even though he agreed before he could say anything a classmate intervened and mentioned a future illness in that child. Which to that I replied:
"That's right! If I was that mother I would think about giving family members, and perhaps the children I did want to have, to give them that kidney first before giving it to that child that the State was supposed to take care of."
That comment sparked a class uproar which was never settled since class ended.
Well here's the twist:
I later found out that the Professor donated a kidney to his son.
A semester later (this one) I also find out that it's his adopted son.
And the topper: I'm taking a class with him right now.
Soooooo, yes I have that type of luck. What are the odds!!!
Adoption and a kidney transplant!
Jeez!
