T3h weekend...

...in my case will be spent mostly studying for my first exam, and probably visiting briefly with fellow Tau-ite Lisa, who is coming down to Bah-ston for the weekend. Today was spent learning about HOMOs and LUMOs, which I understood surprisingly well considering I was running on less than 5 hours sleep. The reason? My laptop quasi-crashed last night, and just when I had spent a frustration-filled hour trying to get it to boot and had finally given up...it suddenly worked again! WTF!?

Fun fact of the week: apparently a carbon atom with five bonds is often referred to by orgo chemists as a Texas carbon. The reason? Carbons can't bond to more than four other atoms at once (well, they can sort of bond to more instantaneously at the intermediate stage of a reaction, but that aside...), so a common mistake by orgo n00bs is to draw a structure with five bonds on carbon. "Everything's bigger in Texas..."

Today I met (at different times) two Harvard students, which in and of itself is not that surprising. The surprising part? Both were actually really down-to-earth and friendly! One of them said that he actually had a really hard time deciding between Harvard and Dartmouth when it had come time to choose...

I'm sure there's more I wanted to say, but I'm too damn tired to think of it...catch y'all later
