Long time, no post...

So yeah, it's about 2 1/2 hours before my first final (which I'm not anywhere near prepared enough for), looking at taking two of my three exams on no sleep, and basically waking up for tomorrow at 10 PM. I feel like shit right now, but the knowledge that the next two weeks after will (presumably) be much better is keeping me going right now. Current plans are to do a short hike with Edanna and/or Popcorn Saturday after finals, work as manager Saturday night at late night Collis, pack/maybe paint my room on Sunday, and hang out with Sharkbait down in Bah-ston Monday and Tuesday. I leave Wednesday, of course...

So what's new? Well, first of all it's looking pretty damned likely that I'll be leaving town basically right after graduation. A big part of me is disappointed, as I'll be away from the friends, surroundings, and reasonably tolerable summer weather I've come to love. On the flip side, some time doing something...different will, quite honestly, do me good. I'm planning to sign up for an accelerated EMT-B certification class at PVCC (way the fuck at the north end of Phoenix, but getting there by mass transit is surprisingly easy, if time-consuming). The alternative, if I stayed here, would be taking a fall class, which means I couldn't even start working as an EMT until 2010. They have some classes around Dartmouth, but the information's spotty, and there's no way I could make the time commitment with everything going on next term. I suppose the good news is that, once I've arrived home this summer, the weather will be as miserable as it gets, so it can only get better from there! Oh, and Cinnabons. Waffle House, too. OM NOM NOM

What else? I climbed New York's highest mountain, along with my good friend and former roommate Bill. It's kind of an epic story--combine absolutely perfect weather with 130-mile views, leg cramps, mild knee injuries, funny videos now posted to Youtube, terrifying uncontrolled slides down a mountainside, breathtaking scenery, and a healthy dose of nostalgia from climbing said mountain eight years ago with my father (in summer, and back when 15 miles was an unimaginably long hike). More details/pics if you want them...

It's going to be hard not having some of my brothers around next term--Edanna and my grand-little-bro Flapper, to name some of them--and all the more so because of the small chance I might never see them again. Yes, some have said they'd be up for graduation at least, and I absolutely want to keep in contact with people, and try to make it back to campus as much as I can, but you never know...at least on the bright side, another bro who is just too awesome to be kept out of Dartmouth will be returning next term!

Crossing the Line = interesting.

And on that note, I'm going to try to get back to studying! Wish me luck!
