For such a truly hellish term, it's rather ironic that finals period will be when I'm more relaxed than I've been in the past three months.
I have come to the conclusion that programming (which I am NEVER going to do ever again starting two weeks from now) is somewhat like writing a paper in another language, say Spanish. You have to know your articles, grammar, syntax, vocabulary, and how to set up a paper in the proper format. There's one difference though--if you turn in your Spanish paper and it's not perfect, it doesn't catch on fire.
I've also decided exactly what I'm going to do after my two hellish weeks are over. I'm waiting for a nice day, packing my bag with water, graham crackers, marshmallows, and every printed-out piece of code from this term I can find. I will get on the Appalachian Trail and start hiking in the southward direction, and will leave the trail at the first campsite in Vermont about five miles in. I will start a small fire at the campground, and I will BURN that fucking code. And make s'mores. Mmmm, s'mores...
In other news, I'm still chronically sick, but less so than I've been in about the past month. Ditto for being depressed. Also, snow is nice. More of it would be nicer. Not breaking my ankle again this winter would be nicest.
My computer is not better, though. Fuck it to hell. I might have a working computer again right around finals period, which means that until then, I'm basically chained to Sudikoff (for CS stuff) or the library for any computer-y stuff. Boo hiss...
Visiting my dad in CT for Thanksgiving. Won't have much chance to relax, might be able to do a little hiking, but it will be nice to see him again.
My life is still hell until December 3 at 5:00 PM. After that, I hope, everything gets better.
