Other people's grandchildren

First let me say that yes, that is my very own picture. I always thought I only got dorky looking as an adult BUT as you can see I was always a little chubby faced dork. And I still have those chubby cheeks only now they are wrinkled and chubby.
Now to the topic. I do not have grandchildren yet and may never have them. That's ok cause it's up to my children if they want to procreate. But if they do I promise to not become so obsessed that friends attending a birthday party for me will not have to listen to 4 and 1/2 hours of cute stories about them while also every two seconds being called to pay attention to the current antics of the self same grandchildren.{they are are a set of twins to double the agony} I will continue to read a paper and watch the news and allow guests to speak of ANYTHING and I will respond as a normal adult. Most of my friends handle grandparent hood proudly but allow other thoughts into their heads and conversations. This couple that we "partied " with yesterday are over the top and I would never be able to say anything because they say things like oh you'll have them someday. Well if they are an example of brains turning to obsessive mush-no thanks!!!

Another topic-today we are going to an eye specialist who may do a cornea transplant on my husband who hasn't seen out of his left eye since 7th grade. Think of us today.
