Granddad

We got a call today that my grandfather (dad's dad) has been submitted to the hospital. Let me say straight away, nothing too bad, or at least, not much to worry about.

Last night, he forgot to take his medicines. So before going to bed, he took them (bit late, but not much of a deal if you do that once or twice a year). But he kept on feeling suffocated. So he went downstairs again, where there's more space and fresh air. But it didn't help, so the doctor was called. He didn't trust it at all, so my granddad was moved to the hospital by an ambulance. They first feared he was having/had had a heartattack, but it turned out to be heart rythem disorder. They are keeping him for the weekend, if all goes well he can go home again on Monday. He now has to take a medicine that will give him more oxygen in his blood. That should help. Nice, even more he has to take. More to forget... he's slowly forgetting stuff. Luckily, my grandmother is doing all right. She got scared and worried last night, but my aunt and uncle joined her to the hospital, and she's all right now.

But it got me thinking on how fragile human life is. Especially for older people. It takes *that* and the wonderfull life you had can be over, either by really being death or just life altering thing. And it's really not that morbid as it sounds. It just means I'm going to the doctor again. Cause I keep on feeling tired, no matter how much or little I sleep. And my eating problems still aren't over, though they mostly happen on Friday and Saturday now. As if I'm out my routine then... But I found out today that my weight has dropped below 70 kilos, which is too light for tall me. So doctor it is. Let them figure out what is wrong with me besides my depression. Which hasn't bothered me for a few weeks now. *knocks on wood*

Despite all that, I'm having fun today. I spent the afternoon with a good friend who recently moved into her own place. So of course I had to come and see. And we had fun chatting. Ended up having dinner there (though not eating much...) and doing the dishes. Nice place, just not my choice at this point of her life. I'd call it a student room, and she's done studying... but she's happy about it, so I'm happy for her.

Also, I went to Vollenhoven tonight (a small town not far from here) with my Mom. They had a flower parade (where they decorate cars with flowers - daisy's I think) and it looked amazing! I was really impressed with what they can do. Not too happy about standing on my feet all evening, but it was worth it.

And now I'm gonna drink my tea and head for bed (although a game of mahjong would be nice as well). So goodnight!
