Well, things are really starting to heat up around here, and I'm not talking about the weather. *grin*
Next weekend, 9 December, is my Shire's event - and I'm the feastocrat AND herald-in-charge. I'm *still* not sure how I'm going to manage that, but something will work out, one way or another. *smile*
So, my Mom, the most wonderful in the world, had asked me what was my favorite online source for fiber-y goodness that also had gift certificates. I told her WEBS - mainly because they had the inkle loom I wanted. :) So, I got my gift certificate and ordered my inkle loom and a couple of back issues of both Handwoven and Spin-Off magazines, to see which one I wanted to subscribe to . Wouldn't you know it, I want both.
Well, yesterday, my inkle loom was delivered. I was surprised at the size of it. It was a lot bigger than I thought it would be, although, come to think of it, I should've known because I worked with a couple of them at the FFF IV event earlier in the month. So, I am excited because now I can actually wrap/warp my tablet weaving project on something that I can take with me to meetings to work on - when I'm not working on my spinning. hehehe
Oh, and my wonderful other half created a journal/book for me to use for 'documenting' my fiber adventures. What's really great is that the book was made (yes, he does bookbinding and is quite good at it too!) to 'grow.' By this I mean that I specified that I wanted the journal to be able to handle me sticking stuff into the pages of the journal. Like, notes, business cards, samples of fibers I'm working/worked with, swatches of stuff I've spun (although I don't think I'll include swatches of my practice pieces of either knitting or crocheting) etc. I still have to take pictures of the book and will post them once I've done so.
Jazzed by fiber - woohoo!
*Rowr, baby!!*
