So a few days ago the matress that I've been using for at least half my life, and at the same time has been in the family for longer than I've been around finally crapped out. A good while back it started showing signs of it's age by having a spring pop out and almost stab me in my sleep. Since I couldn't afford a new one I just flipped it over and went on about my business. Lately it seems a knot has been forming in it or something. Everytime I would roll over I could feel something starting to poke me in the leg. Well luckily my grandmother had gotten some matress from her brother I think and at first I didn't think it was the same size as my current bed and I didn't want to downgrade. Well we checked it out and it was the same size so I had what looked like a decent looking matress that I could use from now on. After hauling my old one out I took a look at my room situation.
I figured with the heavy parts of my bed out of my room if I wanted I could organize a little better. I took all the crap that was under my bed out and cleaned it off then moved my bed frame. Normally it ran along the back wall but now it runs along the side wall in my room. When I did this I could easily get to my computer desk which was before the shift tucked at the foot of my bed just barely with any room to operate in the corner. This gave me the idea it was time to move my computer desk at the same time and open up even more room. The only problem with moving my desk is that I have a million little tiny figurines on top of it and moving them was a task in itself. I took them all down and cleaned my desk off from top to bottom.
Finally getting the matress moved in and my desk in it's new postion I now have a lot of room in what used to be a cramped area where I spent a good deal of my time. I can now actually sit back at my computer, I can even see the tv from where I sit. The old way I had my computer was I had to completely turn around if I wanted to watch television. Also I can even finally open one of my room windows that has been closed for years now. The windows even got a curtain change with this move. Everything is so much neater looking than it was before with a desk just shoved into a corner and a bed frame almost on top of it.
The only problem with this change of furniture is now that my bed is moved into a new place I've found my sleeping habits to have changed. I have or I should say had certain ways I would sleep on my old bed that I really liked. Now that I'm against a new wall in a new direction on a big thick matress it's made it confusing when I sleep to get comfortable. I guess I'm just a creature of habit and I'll have to change my habit so I can find a new way to sleep. Don't get me wrong the matress is nice it's just my body isn't used to it's form. I'll have to break it in I guess you could say.
