Wow, I am not gonna lie, that is pretty awesome. Quite frankly, I would love to do anything with movies. For me, cinema is magic. Maybe that sounds corny, but it's the truth...in my case anyway. I would love to direct to tell you the truth, but I wouldn't even know where to start with that. I almost feel like I would be better at directing than costuming, its more my personality...but I just love to costume so much.
Actually costumes isn't a sure gig...I have no clue how I will get into it. I am just gonna throw myself out there and see who gets to me first...or maybe who I get to first. I don't know how it will work out. Maybe thats risky, but I kinda like the idea of being unsure...and just letting fate take its toll. Who knows, maybe I will start doing costumes, and then end up doing something completely different. I am not sure. I would even like set design...I just love it all so much. Or, like putting together the soundtrack for movies...but I don't think I would be great at that, my music knowledge needs to be a bit more, urm, expanded for that.
Sorry, I am rambling. Its a subject that gets me going. Yes, the job I think in some respects is in high demand, but its also completely competitive. But if you think about it, think about how many movies come out a year, not including all the independant or otherwise films that don't make theaters. A lot of those are being made at the same time, and they all need a costume designer...I think they can squeeze me in there somewhere. I really want to do a Focus Feature (thats a major goal of mine) if you know that production company at all, I'd like to do some movies in England, and at least one French movie. Looks like I'll need to brush up on my French. lol I plan on living in England and France, so, there you go. I'd rather be happy and love the movie than make big blockbusters...thats not very important to me.
I don't know. We'll see what happens. I'll let you know in ten years. Everyone seems to have the confidence in me to make it happen, even when I don't. I hope they are right.
P.S. I know I always try to push you into things, even when we hardly talk anymore, and I am sure you always roll your eyes and want to tell me to "fuck off" so I will only say this once, but I really think you should do the musical. As in, be in it. I know you are interested and all, and I know you want to do something with it...but, well, I think you have the potential to be "greater" than you think you do. You lack confidence in your singing (well, you do) and you are a good singer. I have heard you sing. I wouldn't bullshit you into thinking you could if you couldn't. That would be terrible. Consider it...you are more talented then you know. And I think theatre would be very rewarding for you.............

You are kidding right? That is creepily ironic. I have watched Amelie at least 5 or 6 times THIS WEEK. I am so not even joking. That is my favorite movie of all time, well that and Moulin Rouge. Both make me want to go to Montmartre. In fact, I am considering moving there. We'll see...
