I was so blech (read: caffeine headache) this morning, I took a taxi to Midway. This gave me enough time to feed my brain a double hazelnut soy latte and it piped down. The flight to Columbus was uneventful which was good and
trinalin picked me up. We made the hour and a half trip back following a circuitous route to the ex-evil puppy mall, Best Buy and Trina's comic book store to pick up DWM. It's the strangest thing, every time I come to the wilds of Ohio, the first thing we do is shop. They really need to open more stores in Chicago. The comic book store didn't have any extra current DWMs to my disappointment. Trina said I could read hers if I promised not to drool on them. My DT fixation is not happy.
We had dinner with her parental units at a new pizzeria in town. The pizza was pretty good by Chicago standards. The owners were thrilled to hear this. Then armed with waffle cones of Buckeye ice cream (only in Ohio), Trina was determined to walk around town to prove (after 10 years) there actually was a hill in Pleasant Hill. Since she did this in 176% humidity after a cloudburst, I wisely admitted there seemed to be some slight slope going on, and I was allowed to return to her house.
We finally got to the cabin way after sunset. After chattering for a bit, we are both geeking under fans and AC. Tomorrow Trina is taking me to my first county fair so I can see pigs and shit. Seriously. Trina's aunt Becky can't wait to hear my reaction. Saturday, we will meet
elsaf in Toledo at the fucking zoo. Becky says that after the fair, I should love the zoo. My dog doesn't even smell like a dog. I should dig that aroma of wild animals. Sigh. *Snicker.*
