another update
Aug 3rd. Lundesberg, Sweden
The drive pretty much sucked and took all day to get to you guessed it...another fest. Once again it was some crappy punk fest with the Casualties playing. Billy and I had to set up merch on a tarp outside against a wall and it started to rain a little bit but luckily stopped quickly. I watched Samiam and then started to walk around a little. The crowd pretty much made the fest. While the day before was straight crust, this day was a gathering of the most vile, disgusting, rotten "human" life together in one area. Just to give you a small image of what was going on at the fest: Naked fat hairy chicks jumping into a dirty pond, dudes wearing dresses with nothing on under-then proceeding to lift up their dresses while other dudes licked their weiners in the middle of the merch/stage area, drunk dudes in just boxers whipping out their dicks and peeing wherever they pleased, 14 year old zit faced girls with candy necklaces, shaved sides of the head, and neon dreads, a dude who no joke was a Frankenstein-put together by giant disproportioned body parts, and a shirtless fat 50 girl old man on acid or something dancing like it was woodstock. Thats only a small amount of the vile garbage spewing from this humanity nuclear waste puddle. I'm not even going to get into the Trashland where all the tents of people spending the weekend were. Besides Municipal Waste ruling again and Mikey and I throwing buttons at passed out/dead punks on the ground, there was nothing good about this day. Reassuring myself why I hate fests and humanity.
Aug 4th. Leisnig, Germany
After we witnessed the end of the world in Sweden we drove through the night back to Germany. The 15 hour drive was quite fun. Once we arrived in Germany it was ANOTHER fest. Luckily this time it wasnt a fest born of radiactive goo and it was a hardcore fest where it looked like the majority of the people at least showered in the morning. I set up merch, ate some food, and walked around. I bought a limited Annihilation Time 7" while exploring but then I had to go back to the merch tent. Matt introduced me to the merch dude for The Black Dahlia Murder who he somehow knew from a couple years back and I chilled with him for a little bit. I felt like kaka and just wanted to shower, but at least Madball was playing that night. There set was obviously awesome, but at this point I just wanted to lay down and be clean. I showered and came back to the van for a cold night of sleep. I didn't really get to explore the past 2 days but neither place seemed that interesting. At this point I really just wanted to make my way to the UK.
Aug 5th. Bielefeld, Germany
I dont remember much about this day except we drove a lot. When we arrived I set up merch and then went to the internet cafe/call center right next door. I caught up on some internet and later called my parents and Christina. We were suppose to have a bunch of snacks and drinks for the touring bands at the venue but of course all the local bands ate it before we got there. I love it when that happens. Not much to say about the show except the promoter and some crybaby krauts found a picture from over a year ago of us and cdc sieg heiling and making stupid poses in a picture in texas. I guess it was some big deal to them or the promoter was just exaggerating but whatever their past their problem, not mine. There were some cool distros there and I bought a colored 12" of the first Suicidal Tendencies LP. We ended up staying upstairs at the venue which was of course gross and shitty so I showered and went to the van for another night of great sleep.
