I had lunch with Riley Toth the other day. It was a good time, and I'm enjoying getting to know him. It's nice to see a young defense attorney still so optimistic. I mean, he's working for the public defender, which is a statement in itself, but that office isn't exactly known for breeding great idealists.

Harried, over-worked pessimists is what they seem to turn into after awhile. I don't know many lawyers in general who aren't jaded. But Riley appears undaunted, at least in the case-related capacities I've seen him in.

In other news, Dan's mother wants to take the Flea away for awhile to use him for...breeding. I'm arguing strongly against it. He's an animal and not a machine...I've seen him around her other pugs and he gets terrified. Dan says this is different. I'm not so sure.
