Angry white guy, lol

I kinda want to put this in here so when I'm older and mellow I can laugh at how angsty I was even in my 20s. While the following rant was prompted to finally be put down in text by a recent event, it is by no means a response to any single or even just recent happening.

Dismissing opinions in a discussion is silly either way and is generally a sign of someone not worth continuing to converse with on any topic of weight. If they are being dismissive of *any* opinion then there is a sense of having 'predetermined' that they are more knowledgeable than the other and therefore the other is inherently and irretrievably wrong.

Heck, dismissing my views on racism has occurred and it's silly, too. Sure, lookin' at my whitebread self you'd not think I attended school for 10 yrs in a district heavily divided on economic lines which were mostly equal to the racial lines yet I was on the "wrong" side of the economic line for my skin. From there I spent 3 more yrs in school and 2 in college in a town where I was in the 5% minority where I even had the eye-opening experience of having a boyfriend's mother rant about how unworthy of her son I was while right in front of me, and as a double insult did so in Spanish declaring I was 'too white and too stupid' to understand even though she was being repeatedly told that I was quite fluent.

But hey, you're a guy so you've *always* had it cake-walk easy, and I'm white so I've always been adored and wealthy. So we should hush and go on rather than attempt to throw what weight we can to the universal equality movement. It would seem some don't want our awareness to count. =)
