The honeymoon is over...

One of my huge pet-peeves is people trying to be preachy. Even bigger pet peeves is when people try to "teach" by taking some action and exploding the consequences about five billion fold, then pretending that it's very normal. "Oh, so you spent money on a Harry Potter book? Well, since all that money goes into human cloning research, maybe you shouldn't read that."

So anyway, this Nation States game was really entertaining because you could play a tiny god to your country. When I saw the whole thing was run by the author of a (soon to be released) "Hate the man, everyone with money is out to get you!" paranoid book, I was kinda concerned about how I was directing my country's political dealings. I mean, someone who writes like that might just think that there's only one right way to run a country even in pretend land. Lo and behold, about two days ago I legalized same-sex marriage and suddenly my CRIME RATE DROPS dramatically, along with my economy getting stronger and the intelligence level of my citizens being described in better tones. I mean, seriously. I like the concept of gay marriage, but I don't really think it's going to solve anything about the fuggin economy and suddenly fix the crime rate of anything.

That was a red flag. And last night, I approved SMALL amounts of mining into rainforests to help boost the economy. This morning, my national animal is suddenly "on the brink of extinction due to uncontrolled deforestation." So fucking gay that this guy decides to make a really clever game little more than a preachy platform to ram his own agenda down everyone else's throats as if it were logical.

So, annoyed. I should just call this thing RantJournal.

Anjin-san off.

rant, politics
