...kinda like with Twilight and huge mobs carrying pitchforks and torches. Hey, large numbers of people aren't always a force of good, you know?
Amazon Rank So Amazon has made it so that titles with 'adult' content have been pulled from the search engine on their site.
And by 'adult', I mean we're talking non-fiction memoirs and the like concerning any sexuality that isn't heterosexual. Fiction with hot gay sex and Playboy and so on (VIBRATORS YUM) have not been pulled.
Homophobia? Not even against kinky fetishes, but...actual people?
EDIT: By the way, I don't believe this is entirely the company's fault. There are anti-gay groups, to state the obvious, who would work to have something like this happen. However, if the company can't take the heat from the backlash (sorry, Amazon, I think you're getting caught in the middle of this, a bit...though good sense ought to have prevailed), the anti-gay groups would have to change tactics.
Ya, so smartbitchestrashybooks.com is doing a google bomb (PR run, how...fiendish of them). Dude, even Neil Gaiman is doing it. I find that hilarious. Of course, I also found it hilarious that he claimed his daughter (daughters? Don't know much about his family) was admiring the male lead's expressions in Twilight.
...I just realized people are holding 140 character limit conversations on Twitter. What. Replacement for texting or something? *amuses herself a while following about a dozen conversation threads from Neil's Twitter*
@neilhimself Does "A Study in Emerald" make you a fanfic author? :P
@arabwel no. It makes me a *Hugo Award Winning* fanfic author.
@neilhimself If @amandapalmer, @DaveMcKean, and @MitchBenn were in a no-holds-barred street fight, who would win and why?
@rob_k_84 I think @davemckean and I would go out 1st. Probably @amandapalmer wld win as @mitchbenn would fight like a gentleman & she wldnt.
@neilhimself Do you enjoy being called a woman's writer?
@Athenabast I don't think I ever was before you just did. But I liked it when you did it. Am I any particular woman's writer or all of them?
@neilhimself When/if you get stuck in the middle of a story, how do you get unstuck? this may not happen to you, though. :)
@e_juden I wait and I brood & I think a lot. Then I am grumpy & drink a lot of tea & I glare at people. Eventually I start to write again.
He's got a great sense of humor XD
