hey.
it's a first time for everything; for leaving home after all of you have left, for attending classes, for eating dorm food, for posting...finally.
it is less fun that i expected. but i think the bigger problem is that i feel a little bit too secure with jee won by my side, and home not far away, and the knowledge that all of you are not too far away either.
letsee..things i've done so far:
-tried to finish reading memoirs of a geisha
-went to the Getty Center FINALLY, and damn, it is gorgeous. i hope someday i'll have enough money to camp out there for the night
-i thought i saw jake gyllenhaal at the bus stop coming back to ucla. if it wasn't him, well, it certainly looked A LOT like him. but i don't know if he drives a benz 320 or if he needs to take sepulveda past bel air, i'd imagine him in a air-friendly prius.
-fixed up the room. feels like another homey spot. jee won and i didn't like it at first cuz it didn't smell too pleasantly, but now, it's very nice, so COME VISIT SPROUL 505. i am waiting for the knock
-bought some books for my history of social thought class. reminded me of the recent days of working in textbook exchange, except this time the isles were wider, much more variety, and definitely a whole heck of a lot more expensive
-went to math and chem discussions this morning at 8. bleary eyed and white in the face, i listened to integration by geometry and units of measurement. yea, just feel free to exceed my expectations. oh, and my chem TA is this french graduate student who is the type who overcame his geeky-ness a few years back ,but oh is he pretty darn good looking.
-went swimming at sunset canyon rec. swam about 12 meters and sank. thankfully, it was only 25 m across, and it was 3.5 ft deep.
-visited nima's place. didn't see the roommate yet.
-talked with sunpreet about his upcoming move to london to become a cambridge man. i used to not be an admirer of people who made decisions too impulsively, but now, i realize, if you have those impulses, you might as well listen, because many don't have such strong convictions in one hundred years of their lives.
-watched as angela cut eileen's hair in the mens' bathroom. pretty dang funny. good job angela..she should change her major.
-talked with jee won..oh..about a million and a half times. we can't sleep at night because we're talking so much. unfortunately, she's a light sleeper, so when i have to go across the hall to go pee at 3am, i'm sneaking around like a crook, but it doen'st work. you should hear how quietly i chew my cereal in the mornings.
anyway, there isn't much to do this weekend, besides going to the football game vs. sdsu. i know some of you would pay to see me go to a football game, but that's for another day. i'm going home.
i'm wondering if i should get invovled in something. i'm still waiting to feel the full force of the quarter system, but as of right now, force? where?
work hard, play hard, live harder...i miss you guys all the time
